Guide What fits what
Hilda here. This is how I match parts between models. "Partial" means it can work but check before you buy, and I'll label those matches "check fitment".
The short version: the Himalayan 411, Scram 411 and Scram 440 share the same basic platform, so lots of parts swap between them. The Himalayan 450 is all-new and shares almost nothing.
Pair 1: Himalayan 411 ↔ Scram 411 (same half-duplex frame, LS410)
| Category | Fit | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Engine internals | ✅ Yes | Same LS410 (78x86, 5-speed). Tuning/ECU maps may differ |
| Engine covers | ✅ Yes | Same engine |
| Exhaust | ⚠️ Partial: check fitment | Same engine/header; muffler/heat shield/routing may differ slightly |
| Frame/subframe | ⚠️ Partial: check fitment | Main frame shared; Scram has different rear loop/subframe details |
| Suspension | ⚠️ Partial: check fitment | Both 41mm telescopic + linkage mono, but Scram has shorter travel (190/180 vs 200/180) and different lengths |
| Wheels/rims | ⚠️ Partial: check fitment | Rear fits directly; Scram 19" front fits Himalayan 21" with spacer + speedo cable mods; Himalayan 21" on Scram changes geometry |
| Brakes | ✅ Yes | Both 300mm/2-pot front and 240mm/1-pot rear, ABS |
| Fuel tank | ⚠️ Partial: check fitment | Both 15L, but tank/tank-guard frame differ (Scram has no front frame/tank cage) |
| Seat | ❌ No | Scram has a one-piece scrambler seat; Himalayan has a split seat |
| Bodywork/panels | ❌ No | Different styling panels, and the Scram has no front cage |
| Lights | ⚠️ Partial: check fitment | Headlamp mounting differs; indicators/tail possibly shared |
| Dash/electrics | ⚠️ Partial: check fitment | Scram uses an offset single pod; main harness/ECU are similar but not plug-and-play |
| Crash bars/protection | ✅ Yes | Same frame; aftermarket bars are sold for both |
| Luggage racks | ⚠️ Partial: check fitment | Rear racks depend on subframe/grab rail and are often model-specific |
| Handlebars/levers | ✅ Yes | Levers/controls shared; bar shape differs but swaps work |
| Footpegs | ✅ Yes | Same frame/hangers |
| Windscreen | ❌ No | Headlamp-area mounting differs |
Pair 2: Himalayan 450 ↔ Scram 440 (different platforms)
| Category | Fit | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Engine internals | ❌ No | Sherpa 452 liquid-cooled DOHC 4V vs LS 443 air/oil SOHC 2V |
| Engine covers | ❌ No | Different engines |
| Exhaust | ❌ No | Different engines/frames |
| Frame/subframe | ❌ No | Twin-spar tubular vs half-duplex split cradle |
| Suspension | ❌ No | 43mm USD vs 41mm conventional; different linkages |
| Wheels/rims | ❌ No | 21/17 vs 19/17 with different hubs/axles; not a known swap |
| Brakes | ❌ No | 320/270 vs 300/240 discs |
| Fuel tank | ❌ No | 17L vs 15L, different frames |
| Seat | ❌ No | Different frame |
| Bodywork/panels | ❌ No | Different |
| Lights | ⚠️ Partial: check fitment | Some generic RE LED indicators may be shared; headlamps differ |
| Dash/electrics | ❌ No | TFT/Tripper + ride-by-wire on the 450 vs the simple Scram pod |
| Crash bars/protection | ❌ No | Frame-specific |
| Luggage racks | ❌ No | Frame-specific |
| Handlebars/levers | ⚠️ Partial: check fitment | Bars are 22mm on both, but controls/switchgear differ |
| Footpegs | ❌ No | Different hangers |
| Windscreen | ❌ No | Different |
Cross-generation
- Himalayan 411 → Himalayan 450: essentially no in every category (new frame, engine, suspension, electrics). Generic items (mirrors, some bar-mounted items) are the only exceptions.
- Scram 411 → Scram 440: mostly yes. They share the frame with a slightly modified rear loop, the same 41mm forks, mono, 300/240 brakes, 19/17 wheels and 15L tank, and the 440 alloy wheels are being sold as 411 upgrades. Exceptions: engine internals are partial/no (bigger bore piston/barrel, 6-speed gearbox, new clutch), and the rear subframe/racks/rear body are partial. The 440 can also take many Himalayan 411 crash bars and footpegs by extension (Low confidence).
